# Why Blockchain?

Due to the increasing interest in blockchain-based play-to/and-earn games within the video gaming industry, many have joined the Web3 gaming bandwagon. However, this has resulted in a crowded Web3 gaming market with a plethora of low-quality projects unlikely to survive in the competitive web3 world.

The gaming industry and players' experiences have undergone significant transformations since the early days of gaming.

For the first time, a new gaming experience does not require specialised hardware, which creates numerous opportunities for innovation (even within existing games). Nonetheless, blockchain games are still in their infancy. The entire sector requires an advanced model that emphasises digital ownership, a mature economic system and true interoperability.

Until now, existing GameFi models have not been able to provide traditional video game players with the quality gaming experience they expect. Our goal is to address this gap by offering a fun, high-quality mobile gaming experience that includes Web3 perks but is not dependent upon them.

The video gaming industry is valued at $204 billion, with 58.8% of its revenue generated via mobile gaming. Despite this, current blockchain games cannot provide a seamless gaming experience – even on a desktop. To address this, we are introducing new protocols that will provide the smoothest possible gameplay for our mobile users.

**Fundora** addresses these aforementioned issues by offering players a transparent, user-governed and interoperable ecosystem in which they can thrive as a community.
